The view from our room in the Mandarin Oriental hotel in downtown Miami. We were very lucky to catch a cheap upgrade to an incredible suite with a huge terrace and this breathtaking view.

As the light in the city was a bit full and weird during our trip, since I looked to this view and pressed the shutter button I knew this was going to be an edgy shot. So, I guess I applied a bit more of my usual treatment for it to get that weird feeling that the light quality had in that day.

Another shot from the Santa Monica Pier, just at the very end of it, where the land ends, and the sea starts. We enjoyed an incredible evening after a very bad day. So peaceful, so beautiful, it really charged my batteries for the not-so-good moments that I'll confront in 2010.

kind of run-of-the-mill shot on the incredible Secession dome. The inside is currently an exhibition hall for contemporary art. The only remarkable thing was the evening light reflection on the golden metal dome.
